The 2019 Simple CFL Pool Rules

Entry Fee: $30.00 (for the whole season)

Weekly Award:

  1. Each player will attempt to pick the winners of all games and the total number of points scored for all games for each week.

  3. The winner of the weekly prize will be the entrant that has picked the greatest number of game winners for the week.  Total score will be used only to break ties.  If a tie continues after comparing total scores, the prize will be shared equally.

  4. If the winner has correctly picked all of the game winners for the week, they will be awarded 100% of the weekly prize.

  5. If the winner has not correctly picked all of the game winners for the week but has correctly picked 3 or more of the game winners for the week, they will be awarded 50% of the weekly prize.

  6. If no entrant has correctly picked at least 3 of the game winners, no prize will be awarded for the week.

  7. Tie games count as a loss for both teams.

  8. The weekly prize consists of $1.00 from each entrant plus any money not awarded from the previous week.

Aggregate Award:

  1. A running total of each entrant's correct picks will be kept and will be available from this web site.

  2. At the end of the regular season, the entrants with the highest number of individual game winners will be awarded the aggregate prize in the following proportions: (1) Highest - 60%; (2) Second Highest - 40%.

  3. Should two or more entrants be tied for first place, they will share the total prize equally.

  4. Should two or more entrants be tied for second place with only one entrant in first place, they will share the second prize equally.

  5. The aggregate prize consists of $6.00 from each entrant plus any money not awarded in the final weekly prize.

Playoffs:

  1. There will be a separate prize for the playoffs consisting of $3.00 from each entrant.

  2. For each week of the playoffs, each player will attempt to pick the winners of all games and the total number of points scored for all games for the week.

  3. Entries are to be submitted before midnight of the date indicated on the form (usually the day before the first game of that week).

  4. The accumulated score differential is the sum of the difference between the total score selected by the player and the actual total score for each week. For example, if a player selected 90 points for weeks 1 and 2 of the playoffs and 50 points for the Grey Cup game, and the actual points were 71 in Week 1, 82 in Week 2 and 64 in the Grey Cup game, the player's accumulated score differential would be ABS(90 - 71) + ABS(90 - 82) + ABS(50 - 64) = 19 + 8 + 14 = 41 points.

  5. At the end of the playoffs, the entrants with the highest number of individual game winners and lowest accumulated score differential will be awarded the playoff prize in the following proportions: (1) Highest - 60%; (2) Second Highest - 40%.

  6. Should two or more entrants be tied for first place, they will share the total prize equally.

  7. Should two or more entrants be tied for second place with only one entrant in first place, they will share the second prize equally.

  8. A running total of each entrant's correct picks and accumulated score differential will be kept and will be available from this web site.
